A relaxing time around The Bay (Glenelg)

The last few days of our holiday have been spent relaxing in Glenelg.  This is known by the locals as The Bay.

The following are a few images of an area that we have thoroughly enjoyed staying in rather than in the city: -

A replica of the Buffalo.  The original brought settlers to South Australia. Our friend Jan can trace her heritage back to the original Buffalo arriving in Glenelg.  The replica is open for meals and you can then tour around the ship.  We took our friends for a meal here on our last evening in Australia.

Outback Jacks on the marina has a challenge for any customer brave enough to take this on.  You get 30 minutes to eat a 1Kg steak plus wedges and veggies.  To qualify to get this for half price and get the Outback Jacks T shirt and your picture in the hall of fame you have to eat all that's served on your plate.  If you fail you have to pay the full price of $39.95 for the meal.

Nathan, who is in our party blog, has succesfully completed this challenge.

This is what you would be served if you took the challenge.  A gong is sounded so all in the restaurant know that someone is taking the challenge.  Would you be up for it?

The fastest that this challenge has been completed in is 11 minutes and 5 seconds.  The youngest person to complete the challenge was just 12 years old!

I decided not to attempt the challenge.  My meal, which is a generous serve, looks like an entree in comparison to Outback Jacks challenge!  Vegetarian dishes are also available at Outback Jacks.
