Federation Square is a well known meeting place. It has art galleries and eateries, an ale house and very unusual architecture. The Melbourne Open (tennis) is on at the moment and a large screen TV is provided so that those that can't be there in person can watch for free.
Free entertainment is laid on here on a regular basis. We were lucky to catch an all girl rock band and a good time was had by all
