We're spending a couple of nights at the RSL in Lakes Entrance. Along the Esplanade are the life-sized war memorial sculptures created by chainsaw artist John Brady from the memorial Monterey Cypress trees that were planted in 1924 to honour the servicemen of this district who fell in WW1 after they were deemed unsafe in 1998.

What a lovely way to preserve the memory of why the trees were planted and what a fantastic sculptor.
